The next layer, from the team already inside your systems

Most businesses meet AI through an outside consultant. There is a discovery call, a slide deck, and a pilot that needs access to systems the consultant has never seen. Then the engagement ends, and whatever was built has nobody left to run it. That is a slow and expensive route to something useful.

We start somewhere else. We already know your network, your identity setup, your Microsoft 365 tenant, and where your sensitive data actually lives, because we manage all of it. AI automation for small business only works when it is wired into the systems people use every day, and we are already in those systems. There is no discovery phase to pay for and no administrative access to negotiate.

Where AI earns its place

Four places AI pays for itself.

  • AI Phone Agents

A 24/7 AI receptionist that answers every call, qualifies the caller, and books the appointment straight into your calendar. Never miss a lead to voicemail again.

  • Workflow Automation

Your CRM, email, invoicing, and scheduling connected so repetitive tasks run themselves, and your team stops retyping the same information into four different systems.

  • AI Reporting & Dashboards

Your business data turned into live answers you can ask for, instead of a spreadsheet somebody assembles by hand at the end of every month.

  • Safe AI Adoption

Your staff are already using AI. We find the exposure, set the policy, and deploy AI in a way that keeps company and client data out of public tools.

Safe AI adoption, the part nobody else is handling

Here is what we find in almost every environment we assess. Someone in accounting has pasted a client list into a free chatbot to clean up the formatting. Someone in sales has fed a signed contract into a summarizer to get the key dates out of it. Nobody did anything malicious. They were trying to work faster with tools that sit one browser tab away and ask no questions.

The problem is that free consumer AI tools are not covered by your confidentiality obligations, your privacy policy, or your insurance. Data put into them can be retained, can be used for training, and is outside your control the moment it leaves. For a law firm, an accounting practice, or a healthcare clinic, that is a reportable exposure sitting quietly inside ordinary daily work.

This is where being your security provider matters. We assess what is actually being used and what has already gone out the door. We write an AI usage policy your staff can follow, one that says yes to real work instead of banning everything and being ignored. Then we deploy AI inside your own tenant, with your data boundaries, access controls, and logging in place, so the productivity is real and the confidential material stays where it belongs.

It is the same discipline we bring to cybersecurity, and AI does not get an exemption from it.

Why your IT provider is the right AI partner

BSD has been in IT for more than thirty years, and we have been managing client infrastructure since 2017. Those are not credentials we list for decoration. They are the reason we can do this work quickly and safely.

An AI consultant arriving today starts with nothing. They have to learn your systems, earn administrative access, work out which data is sensitive and which is not, and persuade you that handing all of that to a firm you met last month is reasonable. Realistically that takes months, and at the end of it you have a vendor who understands your AI project but not your business.

We already have the access, and we already carry the responsibility for what happens with it. When we deploy an AI phone agent, we secure it. When we automate a workflow across your CRM and your accounting system, we own the integration and we support it afterward. We secure what we build, because we are still here next quarter. For a business weighing up an AI consultant in the GTA, that continuity is the difference between a pilot and something still running a year from now.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does AI implementation cost for a small business?

It depends on scope, and we price it the way we price everything else: a defined project fee for the build, then a predictable monthly cost to run and support it. A single AI phone agent is a small, contained project. Connecting several systems with workflow automation is a larger one. We tell you before we start what a piece of work should cost and what it should return, and we will say plainly if we think it will not pay for itself.

How long does it take to get an AI project live?

Most first projects are live within two to four weeks, and an AI phone agent can be answering calls sooner than that. Because we already run your infrastructure, the part that normally consumes the first month of an engagement, discovery and access, is already done. Broader automation across multiple systems takes longer, so we stage it and get something working early rather than making you wait for everything at once.

Is it safe to use AI with our client data?

It is safe when it is deployed properly, and it is not safe when staff are using free public tools. The difference is where the data goes and who can see it. We deploy AI inside your own environment with defined data boundaries, access controls, and logging, so sensitive material is never handed to a service that may retain it. We also set the policy and the training, so people know which tool to use for what.

Do we have to replace our existing systems?

No. Nearly everything we build connects to what you already run. Your CRM, your accounting package, your scheduling tool, and your Microsoft 365 environment stay exactly where they are, and AI is layered on top of them. Replacing working software to accommodate an AI project is usually a sign the project was designed backwards.

What if our staff are already using AI tools we do not know about?

That is the normal situation, not the embarrassing exception. We start with an assessment that establishes what is genuinely in use and what data has already been exposed, then bring it under control. The point is not to punish anyone. It is to replace unmanaged tools with sanctioned ones that do the same job safely.

Do you only work with businesses in Toronto?

We are based in Toronto and work throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and because much of this work is delivered remotely we support clients well beyond it. Whether you need AI implementation in Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, or further afield, the delivery and the standards are the same.

Built on the foundation of cybersecurity, managed IT, and cloud & Microsoft 365. One standard of care, applied to every layer, including this one.
